It's really pretty cool. One major downfall is that it's anaglyph, which means you wear the red and blue filtered glasses. That makes the color of the film a little distorted. The other problem that I've seen in both of the films that I reviewed is that there are very few camera cuts. Most films have multiple cameras that can show the best angle at the best time. It looks like they only had one camera capable of doing 3D so the film only cut when they moved on to the next part of the scene. I hope that as 3D becomes more affordable that they will offer 3D films that utilize the newer technology without the colored glasses.
The DVD set does offer a non-3D version that you can enjoy without wearing any glasses. It also has a format that can be put on your iPod; sex on the go. Without considering the 3D aspect, the film lacked variety and energy. Part of it was because of the limited and controlled camera angles, and part of it was just the scenes offered. The actor playing James Bone was the only guy in the DVD so there were no DPs or chicks getting two dicks at a time. There were only four sex scenes and five girls. The girls were all hot, big-breasted babes, but most of them seemed to lack intensity.
I'm giving the film 5 stars for use of the 3D filming and hot porn stars. I do wish that there was more variety and intensity, but know part of it was because of the locked camera angles. If you like 3D films, I would also recommend "This Ain't Avatar, XXX". That one really did a great job with the 3D and it made for a great film in its own right. I'm glad to have Octopussy 3D in my collection as it paves the way for the future of 3D porn.
